Chris Rivera has started teaching privately in NYC
Chris Rivera taught in Houston for many years with the Tony award winning Alley Theatre, Page Parkes School of Acting, and Authentic Acting. Students have booked commercials, feature films, guest spots on TV shows, and Television movies after audition prep or coached taped auditions Chris Rivera. He uses techniques from all acting schools to give students the tools they need to conquer their unique hurdles. There are 3 ways to take class - Private one on one classes. this is the most expensive, but offers the most time focused on you as an actor. Great for building monologues and udition prep. - Semi-Privates you and one other student split the cost and time, although you share the direct attention and focus, you learn from each others mistakes and grow together. You may have a friend in mind or express and interest and perhaps be matched with someone your experience level. - Group class, currently this is not scheduled. But if enough people want to do a group class one will be created. This is the most inexpensive way to take class. For this to happen email Chris your interest, experience level, and evening availability. Email Chris at [email protected] Here are what previous students had to say... Samatha Ambrosine Glover "For those who have not experienced being coached by Chris, I will say first hand he is the best acting coach I have had in Texas. Others were just after your money with a mediocre taped audition. Where as Chris brought out the best in me. I was sad when he left and have not found an acting coach that will bring out the best performance. I would highly recommend him and miss working with him. When I am in NYC he will be my first choice." Chris Smith "Seems like yesterday that I was in one of your classes. It might be because I still rely on a lot of the tools you taught me to use. Each school of thought has it's good points, but you were able to help me fill my toolbox with some from each. As necessary and depending on the role, I utilize what I need from the toolbox. Thanks, Chris, for connecting the dots for me. Now that I'm in NYC, I will be back in one of your classes. They're always fun and informative." Kaylin Zeren "Can't you come back to Houston?! If you are looking for a coach, Chris Rivera is the absolute best. He wants nothing more than for you to succeed and will stay with you until the piece is perfect. Every time I left a coaching, I was always blown away by the work I did. He's incredibly passionate and his dedication to his students is like no other." Jake Dillman "taught me privately and directed me in a show. I was fortunate to experience his teaching style in both roles. Not only is he the most hard working and caring director I have acted under, but as a private teacher, he goes the extra mile. He's willing to work with your schedule and will often tailor your lessons around whatever job you are trying to get at the time without ever straying from solid technique. He has a wealth of acting knowledge and knows the in's and out's of the industry. To say Chris Rivera made me a better actor is an understatement. Thanks Chris, and let me know the next time you're in LA." Elsa Marquez "I had the pleasure of meeting Chris Rivera at the beginning of my career and immediately fell in love with the techniques he taught. I remember coming to him frustrated that I did not know how to dissect a script, how to make choices and bring a character to life or give meaning to the words I was saying. Chris was always very patient during our class time and private sessions. He gave me a great foundation for me to build from. The different techniques I learned years ago I still use today. I truly believe that throughout the years I have been able to grow as an actor thanks to everything I learned from Chris. He genuinely cares for his student’s growth and I can honestly say I couldn’t have asked for a better coach to guide me through those first steps in my career." Gabriel Queiroga "I first met Chris at the Lonestar Actors Studio (later named Authentic Acting) in Houston. Having taken 2 yrs of study at the Houston Academy of Dramatic Arts I was looking to transition from stage to screen. At the time affordability and availability were key and Chris was most helpful in accomodating his time to fit my schedule. His techniques range from doing cold reads, getting into character, and understanding/connecting with internal conflicts surrounding the story. Aside from being a teacher Chris also actively participates in the acting world, once being so kind as to give me a part in one of his productions. The confidence and lessons I received from him carried over into my own life making me more outgoing and comfortable with myself as an actor in front of the camera. Above all Chris is the perfect mix of professionalism and caring instructor, I can easily call him my friend and thank him for the good times on stage and backstage." |
